HTML5 Games Developer/s:
Complete Control is a double BAFTA award winning children’s entertainment and games studio, located just outside of Bath. We are a small team of 17 that produce digital content for the best loved children’s brands across the BBC, Cartoon Network, LEGO, Nickelodeon, Penguin Books and many more great clients.
We are now looking for an innovative and HTML5 games developer/s to join the team and help us deliver the very best in Children’s gaming across browser and app platforms. If you thrive on varied technical challenges and creative input, and you’re seeking a fast-paced, friendly environment, then come and help us make games !
What do we need to see from you?
We are seeking a ‘through and through gamer’ that also gets their kicks from making great games too. You will love being part of a passionate and talented team amongst artists, animators, project managers and seeing your work featured by the best children’s brands. You are someone who is a technical genius, can lead others and has the ambition to create the best children’s games on the market.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous agency experience and strong commercial HTML5 game portfolio.
- Conversant in Canvas, PIXI JS and Texture Packer as well as a firm grounding in Javascript.
- Strong maths skills.
- Experience of working with animated characters within games – e.g. Spine.
- Develop and test code, fix bugs, and profile and optimise code.
- Follow best practices, development processes, and coding standards.
- Document and peer review technical designs with other software engineers.
- Work with QA, providing information needed to fully test developed code.
- Mentor other developers as needed to increase their abilities and productivity.
- Experience with WebGL and hardware-accelerated 3D techniques.
- Experience working with SCRUM in agile, iterative environments.
- A clear understanding of the particular challenges in game development, such as art workflow, performance optimisations, memory management and supporting multiple platforms.
- Experience using source control systems such as SVN, Git.
- Huge interest in the latest technologies and gaming trends.
- Love making games!
These would be nice, too:
- You’ve made your own personal games.
- Smartphone development experience.
- Experience with Cordova, CocoonJS or PhoneGap.
- Experience with Flash, Unity or C++
- Experience in general digital media asset production.
