Beano

‘Gameifying’ the Beano website content to be fun and interactive for children was a key requirement. Kids could earn splat points to unlock curated content and improve their menace ranking, helping the menaces regain control of the website over the softies.

At the heart of the Beano website was a series of HTML5 mini games (x15) packaged together within an overarching game mechanic. Menaces could play against the Softies in a series of rounds in which they earn points, unlock characters and contribute to an overall scoreboard.
